Take action now: Contact your U.S. Representative to support new bipartisan federal legislation to increase access to pharmacists’ services

APhA, in partnership with the Future of Pharmacy Care Coalition, supports new federal legislation (H.R. 7213), also known as the Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (ECAPS), which would enable pharmacists and pharmacies to be eligible providers for Medicare beneficiaries for testing for COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and strep throat; treatment of COVID-19, influenza, and strep throat; and vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza. ECAPS would also establish Medicare coverage and payment for new pharmacy- and pharmacist-provided services in the case of public health emergencies and public health needs as determined by HHS.

APhA is urging our members to ask your U.S. Representative to cosponsor H.R. 7213 and ensure patients can receive care and treatment from pharmacists for pandemic- and public health emergency–related services. Go to APhA’s Action Center to easily send our prewritten, editable letter to your Representative.
