Bio
Chris Johnson, PharmD, was born and raised outside of Portland, OR, and completed a BS
degree at Oregon State University. He then earned his PharmD at Concordia University
Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, where he subsequently completed the 24-month practice and
academic leadership residency and a Master of Science in education degree. After residency,
Chris took a position as a faculty member at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
(UAMS) College of Pharmacy, with an ambulatory care practice in a family medicine clinic.
He has maintained significant involvement within APhA, including serving as an active member
of the Care of Underserved Patients SIG since its inception, and co-chairing and chairing
the SIG's Communications Committee. Additionally, he served as an APPM Member-at-large and
chaired the APPM Communications Standing Committee. Chris has also served as an APPM
delegate to the APhA House of Delegates since 2019 and has served on the New Business Review
and Policy Reference Committees. At UAMS, he mentors future generations of pharmacy leaders
as the APhA-ASP chapter advisor.

Bio
Matthew Lacroix, PharmD, MS, BCPS, FAPhA, is the director of accreditation and assessment at
the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. In this role, he oversees the assessment
programs for the college's undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. A dedicated
member of APhA for 20 years, Matthew has contributed significantly to APhA-APPM and the APhA
House of Delegates, and in 2024, he was honored as an APhA Fellow.
Matthew is a past president of the Rhode Island Pharmacist Association, where, under his
leadership, the organization received the APhA Immunization Champion Award. He is also an
active member of AACP, collaborating with colleagues to advance academic pharmacy.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Matthew advises the University of Rhode
Island chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and has played a key role in
leading the fraternity’s national leadership development program.

Bio
Morgan Stewart, PharmD, is a clinical associate professor in the division of pharmacy
practice at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She received her PharmD
degree from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy
residency at The Ohio State University followed by a PGY2 ambulatory care residency at the
University of Colorado. A board certified ambulatory care pharmacist and board certified in
advanced diabetes management, Morgan practices as a clinical pharmacist at CommUnityCare
Health Centers in Austin, TX. Her academic responsibilities include coordinating an
interprofessional course for first-year PharmD students, collaborating with colleagues and
students from medicine, nursing, and social work. She also teaches pharmacotherapy and
elective modules focusing on ambulatory care and diabetes-related topics and serves as a
preceptor for both introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences at her clinic.
An active member of numerous professional organizations, Morgan considers APhA as her
professional home. She recently served as Coordinator for the Medical Home/Accountable Care
Organization SIG, fostering innovation in patient care models.

Rachel Madison Carter (Rister), PharmD, graduated from the University of Kentucky College of
Pharmacy in May 2024. In addition to her professional PharmD degree, Rachel holds an MBA and
a Graduate Certificate in Improving Healthcare Value. She is currently a PGY1 resident with
the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, specifically practicing at PrimaryPlus in
Morehead, KY. PrimaryPlus is a federally qualified health center that serves the
northeastern area of Kentucky and southeastern area of Ohio.
Rachel grew up in Maysville, KY, and is passionate about providing affordable and advanced
care to underserved, rural areas of the commonwealth. Her professional practice interests
include diabetes management, pulmonary diseases, chronic care management, and academia.
Rachel is passionate about teaching, precepting pharmacy students, and outpatient care. She
plans to become a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and Certified Diabetes Care and
Education Specialist after completion of her residency training. Rachel hopes to contribute
substantially to academia and the pharmacy profession as a clinical ambulatory care
pharmacist.

Rachel Ray is a dedicated third-year PharmD candidate and MBA student at Idaho State
University L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy with a strong commitment to enhancing patient
care and fostering a positive work environment. Currently externing at St. Luke's Hospital
in Meridian, ID, Rachel has been exposed to varied aspects of health care systems, honing
her clinical skills and deepening her understanding of patient needs. Prior to her
externship, Rachel gained valuable experience working at an independent community pharmacy,
where she cultivated lasting relationships with patients and developed skills in medication
management.
She is dedicated to educating patients about their medications, side effects, and overall
health management, empowering them to make informed decisions about their wellness. In
addition to her clinical focus, Rachel is a proponent of maintaining high morale and
positivity among coworkers, believing that a supportive workplace contributes significantly
to overall patient satisfaction.
Her dual journey in pharmacy and business allows for a unique bridge between clinical
insight with strategic understanding, ultimately aiming to contribute to more effective
health care solutions and patient-centric practices.
