Nira Kadakia, PharmD, BCACP, is an assistant professor at the University of Findlay College of Pharmacy and an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist. She has experience precepting students and residents in community-based, ambulatory care, and academic practice sites. During these rotations, she implemented opportunities for students to reflect on their activities and experiences. Nira has held leadership roles within numerous professional organizations, including the Ohio Pharmacists Association, Indiana Pharmacy Association, and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She has also been heavily engaged with APhA, serving for several years in the New Practitioner Network (NPN). While in the NPN, she chaired the education and communications committees and served on the Transitions newsletter editorial advisory board. Additionally, she is a member of the Women in Pharmacy Committee and serves as a small group facilitator for the APhA Foundation Incentive Grant program.
Nira has been a part of the Preceptor Community since 2022, first as a member of the education committee, then as a committee chairperson for the education and communications committees. In these roles, she facilitated the development of preceptor resources such as a syllabus creation guide and a layered learning primer. Additionally, she moderated and produced podcasts related to learner experiences in experiential settings. She uses her connections to engage with other preceptors across various APhA platforms and hopes to continue to connect with her network as she grows within the organization.
When not doing pharmacy things, Nira enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
