The year 2021 brought a new wave of difficulties for both the world and, most notably, for health professionals. COVID-19 was still the forefront issue of the health care field, and American patients and health professionals were scrambling to navigate this new “normal.” With FDA approval of the first COVID-19 vaccine in late 2021, the world saw this as the first sign of the light at the end of the tunnel.

Every year, our chapter strives to build upon the foundation it has established while pushing the boundaries of the impact student pharmacists can make. That’s why it was such an honor to receive the 2021–2022 Operation Diabetes National Award at the 2023 APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix this past March. This recognition was a testament to our student members’ hard work and dedication to the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy APhA–ASP Chapter and the community.

In March 2023, our APhA–ASP Chapter at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy won the Innovative Programming Award competition at the 2023 APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Phoenix.
